you may now only check one bag when flying. well, at delta and american, anyway. haven't looking into the rest.
now, I am a)a chronic overpacker and b)someone who likes to be prepa

I had already decided that I would pack just one bag, and put another in my suitcase so that should packing to return be a little difficult, I could just throw it in bag #2. I'm only there for four days, though I do require quite a few outfits and pairs of shoes (fish fry, bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner and wedding, plus clothes for the day on friday, saturday and sunday). It'll all be fine. I just find it unfortunate that I *only* heard about this because I bothered to do the pre-check in and saw that they'd changed it. It became effective on May 5th, by the way.
So, the people counter-offered on the house, and it ain't pretty. I countered back, and we'll see where it goes from here...I will have my computer in Alabama (and supposedly I'll have free internet) so perhaps I will keep you posted.

Is this for domestic flights only, or international ones as well?
I believe just domestic. But you should deffo check your airline to be sure.
and I only mention domestic since I have never flown internationally!
G and I have shipped stuff ahead and shipped stuff back home on occasion for that very reason -- but for some airlines, the second bag is only $20 and so that might be cheaper than mailing it -- our shipping was back when we already had 2 checked luggage pieces plus more at a 2 week Christmas holiday, etc. In that case a third bag was $80! Yikes!
Yeah... this sucks. Ever try to pack for yourself and a baby in one bag? Not easy. But he will outgrow the no seat thing soon... for sanity and airline reasons. If they change international, we're in a world of hurt. Kevin already pays for a third bag... Yikes!
YAY for the house stuff!!!!! Love catching up on blog world.. Cant wait for you to come back, chica!
