my night last night was a leetle crazy. I'm running on 5ish hours of sleep. as I rolled into work at 859 this morning I thought "oh, god. I got into bed seven hours ago."
it took me a while to fall asleep. :(
so, I left work and there was this RIDICULOUS storm a-brewin'. Like, torrential rain, flood-causing, gigantic raindrops kind of storm. When they hit my windshield when I was parked the drops seriously spread out in 3 inch diameter circles.

and after three trips I am ALL out! Matt and I managed to get everything out of my apartment, and after the cleaning lady comes today I will collect my doormats, vacuum and a few other odds and ends, all of which will take me ten minutes to grab. It is a HUGE relief to be done with that. HUGE.

anyway, yummy and simple. try it!
but while I was at the grocery store I went to the self-checkout line and I stopped a shoplifter! seriously! I didn't realize that was what I was doing, exactly. The man in front of me (probably 50-55ish) had one of those prepackaged sliced cheese things in his back pocket. And I noted that the security guard was like 15 feet away (and within earshot) and said "excuse me, do you know you have cheese in your back pocket?" and he said "what?!?" so I repeated myself, and he felt his pocket like he didn't have anything in it, even though it was obviously showing, and then looked at me again, took it out and angrily said "now I don't!"
while I checked out one of the head cashiers who always knows not to give me bags, kevin, hung out because the guy was still bagging up his stuff. anyway, stopped a shoplifter. yay!
so, dinner. another trip. and I started making this--just the pasta and had matt cut up the chicken. I cut the basil last sunday and stuck it in a jar of water, and hadn't gotten to do anything with it yet, and then this morning when I went to add the basil I noticed this.
hydroponic basil!!! I removed some of the leaves and am going to add a little bit of fertilizer to the water until I can get the hydroponic stuff. this means I can have it indoors! I need to add a rooting medium, too. wonder if I can find my perlite...anyway, this was exciting to me!
aaaand, matt painted the last wall in the middle room. he is a CHAMP! here it is in all its glory! I couldn't get the whole room in without the wall looking totally white, but this is the color. it's called guacamole. we had one called basil originally, but didn't want to color match and this one is less yellow, so I think it worked out to our advantage. YAY!
back to work. AGAIN. :(
