um, help?
so, my computer savvy friends...
I have a problemo.
I have an external hard drive, see? And it's normally drive E on my computer when I hook it up. But the other day I plugged my ipod nano in before my external hard drive, and now my external hard drive registers as F instead of E. Which is a problem because things like itunes and my photo software all think that the songs and/or photos can be found in E, not in F. So I'm going to have to delete my entire library and re-download it, methinks.
suggestions?

You can change the letter of the drive if you would like. Hook up both of your removable storage devices. Go to Control Panel--->Adminstrative Tools--->Computer Management--->Disk Management. Once you're there right click on the drive you'd like to change and click "Change Drive Letter and Paths..." At this point you can change the sneaky drive to G, then reassign your drive to E etc. Hope this helps.
um, if I formatted everything then I'd lose everything. plus, windows works just fine for me, thankyouverymuch.
and thanks anon. i haven't had a chance to try it yet, but thanks!
Make sure you have both the ipod and the external drive both plugged into the system, where they are assigned drive letters...if not the little swap-er-ooo won't work right. Hope all is well with you.
P.S. Linux, like mr.J said, is the best.
