home stretch.
this home-purchasing thing sure is occupying A LOT of my brain. I do hope I can figure it out very, very soon.
tonight I am going to look at two more homes--one is a foreclosure that is pretty close to the one with the orange kitchen, and the other is an end unit near home #2 with the built in bookcase and all. they are both end units, I'm not sure if either has outdoor storage, and I might hate 'em, but I'll be glad I looked.
if nothing comes of these, I'll be putting in an offer on the house in Creekside (on Alexander). It has a few drawbacks (less character in the layout, small area outside, only eleven visitor spots in the entire complex) but its positives outweigh the negatives. kitchen, size of downstairs, location, end unit, etc. I'm leaning toward it, for sure, but I need to make sure I've got my bases covered.
and I'm really really looking forward to this being DONE. it's exhausting.
so, this weekend wasn't as crazy as usual.
friday night we went to look at homes, ate dinner at uno's and matt made peanut butter pie while I watched grey's from thursday and an episode of antm, which is my new favorite show to watch while I'm being lazy. It is dumb and all, but the photography part is neat, and it's a nice mental break.
saturday we got up and matt went to his game. I got ready and made it for the last half hour. then we went to his soccer party. it was fun, but at some point, despite spending most of my time in the shade or covered, and wearing and re-applying SPF 70 sunblock, I still managed to get a sunburn. I got in the pool for about 10 minutes, but once I got out covered up with a towel, and then got dressed, and hid from the sun some more. yikes.
and then I took a nap. a nice, blissful nap.
got up and got ready for lisa's birthday party. after a $19 + tip sushi dinner a deux, matt and I went to the party. I got the evite, but matt knew more people! they play soccer against each other. the party was FUN. and lisa lives in a townhome like this one, and if the ones I went to looked like hers, they would've been a MUCH greater consideration. we had a really fun time, ate birthday cake, etc.
ps: do y'all call it muddy buddies or puppy chow or junk or trash? you know, that stuff that's chex, peanut butter, chocolate chips, butter and powdered sugar?
when we got home we *tried* to watch clue, but we were both WAY too tired. I'd never seen it, and I seem to recall that Ariel LOVES it, so I made sure watched it sunday morning. I really liked it! it was great--I completely took a "mental health" day as my big would call it. slept in, matt made me italian toast (okay, really it was french toast and he was being difficult), and then we watched Clue. then I napped, cleaned the kitchen, showered and went to the mall, before coming home to make some super-simple quesadillas with homemade guac. And then we watched Elizabethtown. Cute, worth the watch, but not better than Garden State! And then, back to sleep for Carrie. :) I liked my Sunday off. I think over Memorial Day Matt and I are taking a vacation from everything, so hopefully it'll be full of similar relaxing. 'cause I needed it!

Clue is for sure the best movie ever. And it gets even better the more times you watch it!
Puppy chow. I've never heard of the other ones.
