that's what she said.
I am a tired girl. I've spent A LOT of time in a car the past few days, and I've been getting too little sleep since, um, high school. ish. ;)
but! the bachelorette was FUN! mary alise, susie, allison, michelle and I had a blast! we went shopping, had yummy food, took jello shots in the car--it was GREAT! michelle did keep calling me a "do-gooder" though--donating my hair, girl scout assistant leader, air quality engineer...it was kind of a running gag.
by the way, so you know who everyone is: from L to R that's michelle, allison, mary alise, susie and of course, me!
the other was "that's what she said." the funniest part, by far, was after going to tyson's corner when we were on our way to georgetown. allison and mary alise were trying to get the navigation system to work, and allison commented how it was "so fast and soft." that's what she said. the peanut gallery in the backseat got a huge case of the giggles. I think the front seat was a leetle annoyed with the three of us...
we checked into our hotel and set up for the bachelorette and gave mary alise her presents. the best was four pairs of underwear all in a wine bag and attached with ribbon. they had notes that said like "before the wedding" and then a huge joke pair at the end. tres funny. and then, well, then we proceeded to disrobe. um, sort of. we seriously sat around in tank tops and shorts or undies while drinking and playing "never have I ever"--because our dumb hotel hadn't switched to AC yet, and it was 78 degrees outside so even with our windows that opened 5 inches we were still sweating. there was no ventilation and our room was probably 80 degrees when we got to it. we opened the windows, turned off all the lights, filled the sink with ice to cool our beverage and sat around sweating like crazy. we decided all we needed was a pillow fight and it might fulfill some fantasies...
but seriously SO HOT. SO sweaty. ugh.
as it cooled a little and we got a smidge tipsy we also got a smidge hungry, so we got ready and went out--ps, two people went to get ready in the lobby it was so hot in our room! of course it was hot there too--but if you're staying in a swank hotel that shouldn't happen! oh, and when I called they had "just" run out of fans--it was a whole hotel problem. and they didn't do a darn thing to compensate us. yeesh.
so, here are pictures from the night--if anyone offered to take our picture OR if there was another bachelorette then I took a picture of her an "lil M.A." We ate a dinner of fried food from a bar and spent most of the evening in a bar called "the guards."
It was SO much fun. Mary Alise kept kissing people on the cheek and guys were pretty amazed by the boy-part-shaped gauge she carried around. The smallest one said something about sharpening a pencil! Oh AND one of the dudes asked what I did, and I told him, and then he was like "Have you seen 'Who Killed the Electric Car?'" CRAZY! oh, and I got to be part of a "frattle"--a fraternity huddle. ps, those dudes were not in a fraternity. whatev. Anyway, we probably crashed around 3am, and woke up at 9 to church bells--which rang WAY more than nine times. We slept until 1030 and then skeedaddled.
The ride to C-Ville on Sunday wasn't extra pleasant, but the gatorade I brought sure came in handy. :) And thus ended the bachelorette party. I then drove the three and a half hours home...YAY! I want to tell you about a movie and show you some pictures too, but I'll do that in another post.
